McChouffe for the Weekend

Last weekend was a great weekend for trying new belgian and belgian style beers.  One of the best ones I had was the McChouffe beer. Even at 8%, you couldn't taste the alcohol it did have a nice fruity finish.  Get this one cold, pour it into your favorite Belgian Beer style glass and drink...peferably outside for a beautiful weekend.

This brewery also has some other great beers so be sure to check them out too.

La Fin Du Monde

A couple years ago, my Fiance and her Dad introduced my to Belgian beers.  I was hooked right away.  Since then I have been on a quest to try as many Belgian and Belgian style beers that I can get my hands on.  I've found some great ones, and others that tasted like dirty feet.  I'm here to help people find and try other great Belgian beers, if not for the great taste but the fact that most are over 7% alcohol and make you feel pretty good!!!

The first beer I am reviewing is the La Fin Du Monde, a Canadian beer made by Unibroue.  It is crafted in the Belgian Beer tradition of Trappist Monks.  I picked this one up at BevMo last weekend for about $9 for the 750mL.

This beer was fantastic.  At 9% alcohol it packs a nice punch.  The beer goes well with cheeses so I had mine with Cheetos.  This worked out good since I just had enough time to drink a glass with the pre-wife before heading out to Father's day dinner.

If your into getting the details on best temp, pairings, etc check out this video.  If your like me, just get it cold, pour into a glass, and drink it down.  Definately worth a rebuy.
